Visit to the Gurudwara
As part of our cultural learning and celebration of Guru Nanak Jayanti, the students of Bunts Sangha’s Arathi Shetty International School had the privilege of visiting the Gurudwara at Dahisar East. This enriching field trip aimed to instil values of peace, unity, and gratitude while offering students a firsthand experience of the Sikh culture and traditions.
The students, accompanied by their teachers and support staff, arrived at the Gurudwara at 10:00 a.m. They were warmly welcomed by the Gurudwara’s representatives, who kindly guided them throughout the visit. The serene ambiance of the holy place provided the children with a unique opportunity to observe and experience the rituals and practices of the Sikh community.
The visit began with the children listening to a brief explanation of the significance of Guru Nanak Jayanti and the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. The representatives explained the key values of equality, kindness, and community service, which are central to Sikhism.
The students observed the prayer rituals and the recitation of the holy hymns, which created a spiritual and peaceful environment. They showed great respect by folding their hands and maintaining silence during the prayers. The children also received Prasad as a token of blessing, which they accepted with gratitude.
This visit not only deepened their understanding of the Sikh faith but also fostered a sense of respect for diverse cultures and traditions. It was an enriching experience that taught them valuable lessons about unity and harmony.
